Fall 2017 TV Preview - Shows I'm looking forward to!

Happy Thursday Everyone! Can you believe that we are almost half-way through September? I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that we are officially heading into the holiday season.  In fact, we are already 14 weeks away from Christmas! I am looking forward to the holidays and all of the family and friend time they bring.

One of my favorite parts of Fall is all of the TV shows the come back on our launch! Today I wanted to share the shows I am most looking forward to watching this Fall Season! I did a little post last year around this topic and thought it would be fun to do it again!

Dancing with the Stars
Premieres Monday September 18th on ABC
This Fall will be the 25th season for Dancing with the Stars and I am super excited.  They have a few of my favorite people on the show - Frankie Muniz and Lindsey Stirling to name a few - and I cannot wait to see them dance!

This is Us
Premieres Tuesday September 26th on NBC
If you have not already started watching This is Us, I would highly recommend this show.  Every episode is a whirlwind of emotions and I am 100% invested in each character.  If you loved Parenthood, I would suggest watching This is Us.

The Last Man on Earth
Premieres Sunday October 1st on Fox
The Last Man on Earth is one of those shows with which I instantly fell in love.  The combination of silliness, awkwardness and downright stupidity absolutely is right up my alley and I cannot wait to spend time time laughing and cringing at the show.

The Big Bang Theory
Premieres Monday September 25th on CBS
Justin and I started watching this show at the very beginning and I can say that I have enjoyed every.single.episode since it aired years ago.  It is one of those shows that always gives me a good laugh and I look forward to watching it.

The Good Place
Premieres Wednesday September 20th on NBC
With the plot twist at the end of season one, I cannot wait to see how they run with it! If you are looking for a sarcastic and enjoyable show, I would watch season one, then pick up on season two!

Other shows to watch:

The Good Doctor
Premieres Monday September 25th on ABC
This show caught my eye immediately due to the fact that they are addressing the fact that someone with Autism can do extraordinary things.  I am very much looking forward to watching this show.

The Resident
Premieres ---
I came across the video for this show and cannot wait! It has Logan from Gilmore Girls and Emily from Revenge so you know it will be good! The only thing I don't know is when the show will be releasing.

The Orville
Premieres September 10th on Fox
If you like Family or American Dad, then you are in a treat! Seth McFarlane is acting in a new Star Trek spoof.  I'm not sure if it will be funny or not, but I plan to check it out.

Question of the Day: What shows are you anticipating this Fall?

Fall Bucket List 2017

Hello y'all! I cannot believe that we are already a week into Fall already! Fall is my favorite season of the year, so I am very much looking forward to spending some time enjoying the cooler weather, beautiful leaves and tons of cider and donuts.

Every year we have a list of things that we like to do in the Fall Time and this year is no different! So here is my Fall Bucket List!

Fall Bucket List 2017

1. Go to the Renaissance Festival: Every year for the past five or so years, Justin and I have made our way to the Renaissance Festival and this year will be no different.  I fully intend on putting on my costume and heading out for a day of delicious food, great company and fun entertainment.

2. Apple Picking with Friends: This year a big group of us will be heading out to the orchard to pick apples! I love this tradition and cannot wait to go again.

3. Get Cider and Donuts @ Yates: One of the biggest Fall treats in Michigan is going to get Cider and Donuts.  I feel like I've been going to Yates for as long as I can remember, so of course this is on my bucket list.  I swear they have the best donuts around!

4. Halloween Party: Last year Christina and I planned a going away party for Sarah that focused on Halloween and I had so much fun, so this year I am planning to host another Halloween Party! It will be fun to just get everyone together in costumes and hang out.

5. Friendsgiving: This year will be our 5th year having Friendsgiving and I am excited.  I love getting my friends together for a potluck style Thanksgiving dinner where we can connect and share a fun evening playing games and hanging out.

6. Bake Fall Pies and Cookies: The past few years I have wanted to bake a pie or fall-themed cookies and have not, so this year I will make sure to spend some time baking delicious recipes with all of the apples and pumpkins we are going to pick this year.

I think this is a good list for this Fall! I am looking forward to all of the fun things we have coming up and I cannot wait to watch the leaves change over the next month or so!

Question of the Day: What fun things do you do in the Fall?
I'd love to hear from you!

Happy Autumn Everyone!

Happy Thursday friends! I hope your week has been going well and you are looking forward to some fun things this coming weekend! Right now we are planning to go to the Renaissance Festival and then hanging out around the house for the weekend.

But on a more exciting note, today is the First day of Autumn or the Autumn Equinox! I am a huuugeeee fan of Fall, so I have been anxiously awaiting the "official" arrival of all things fall and I am looking forward to enjoying all of the wonderful things that come along with the Fall.

In Michigan, Autumn means cooler weather, changing leaves, cider and donuts, pumpkins and fresh picked apples.  For the last several years, we have made it a point to go apple picking and we have a plan to go October 9th to pick apples with out friends.

So what does Fall mean to you? I hope you are just as excited as I am for the Fall!

Question of the Day: What are you looking forward to this Fall?

Apple Picking 2.0

Happy Wednesday Readers! I hope your hump day is going well so far!

This week has been a strange one with the cold weather and some very strange things happening, but so far it has been a pretty good week!

Today I wanted to recap our visit to the apple orchard this past Sunday with you all! If you remember from last week, I suggest this as a Fun Fall Activity! And I guess technically, I killed two birds with one stone since the orchard is also a Cider Mill.

My friends and I have created a few fun traditions for ourselves, and last year we added Apple Picking to the list and I am glad we decided to repeat this tradition again this year.  This year we again went to Westview Orchards to pick our apples.  I really like this orchard because I feel they are very organized, have a ton of fun options, and are fairly reasonably priced.

For example, a lot of orchards charge by the pound while Westview charges per bag.  We paid $19 for a peck of apples (roughly 40-50 depending on size) and that bag allows 2-3 people to go into the orchard to pick apples.

Altogether, we had 3 pecks between the whole group and we easily walked away with 175+ apples.

Another thing I really like about Westview Orchards is the fact that they encourage you to try the apples before you bag them.  Because each person has a different preference for apples, it can be difficult to pick them without knowing exactly what you are getting.  I think before I left the orchard, I ended up eating a total of five apples because they were so crisp and juicy.

After the orchard, we all went back to Justin and I's apartment to have dinner and play games together.  I can honestly say that I have not laughed that hard in a long time.  Such a fun and wonderful evening with my friends.

Here's to many more years of fun apple picking traditions!

Question of the Day: Have you ever picked your own fruit? If so, which is your favorite to pick?

Fall Recycled Wreath Tutorial

Happy Monday Everyone! I trust you had a lovely weekend and were able to do something fun and exciting!

My weekend was very low-key because I have been sick since Thursday night.  Darn this stupid infection - hopefully I'll be on the mend quickly because I still feeling terrible today.

For today's post, I'd like to share another fun Fall Tutorial with you that I tried from my Fall Decor DIY  list.  The best part of this tutorial is you recycle paper bags to make this adorable wreath!

Original tutorial found here.

What You Need:
  • 12" Foam Round
  • 3-4 Brown Paper Bags
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Scissors (or rotary cutter and mat)
  • Fall Decorations

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step One: Cut the handles of your bag off.  Then cut down the sides of the bag to open the bag up.  Once the bag is opened up - remove the bottom of the bag.
Step Two: Cut your bags into 1"-1.5" pieces.  I went with about 1.25" because it was taking a very long time to get the pieces cut out
Step Three: I got so excited about this next part that I forgot to take pictures of the process.  However, I can explain them without a picture demonstration.
Once your strips have all been cut out, begin twisting the pieces to create a more crumpled look and begin gluing them to the wreath.  Repeat this process until the entire wreath is covered in the paper strips.
**Note: If your bag has an writing on it, the printing will show up when you twist the paper.  If you look closely at mine, you can see where the paper is blue or green from the store's logo.
Step Four: Add fall decorations to your wreath.  I used some daisies and leave to add a pop of fall and I used this banner from FleeceFun.  It matches the bigger banner that I put on my mantel for decor.  Once I get all of my decor finished, I will make sure to share a picture of everything.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So what did you think? It was a pretty simple wreath to make - it just took a while to glue all of the pieces onto the wreath so it was a little time consuming.

Question of the Day: What is your favorite wreath to hang throughout the year?
