Month at a Glance

I know it's Day 2 of October, but I am just reveling at how quickly this year has gone by.

I hope everyone is just as pumped as I am about exactly what October means: changing leaves, cooler weather, scarves, boots, leggings and of course {pumpkins}! My favorite part of October is, of course, carving pumpkins and all of the other fun festivities that come along with it!

I was excited to see October was going to be a busy month when I sat down and looked at my calendar at home because we have a ton of fun events planned!

In {chronological} order:
  • Apple and Pumpkin Picking
  • Nicole and Nick's Wedding
  • McKenna's (my niece) first birthday party
  • Mom 2 Mom sale for Infantly Cute
  • Crafting Day with my Girls
  • Our 2nd Wedding Anniversary
  • Halloween
Overall, it looks like a super exciting month and I cannot wait to start the festivities this coming weekend! I always look forward to Halloween because it feels like the precursor for all of the excitement that comes with winter.  Plus, I have a ton of fun crafting and organizing things I get to do this month {more on that later}!

Now to just get working on my Halloween costume.  I have a few fun ideas, but I am just not sure which to go with.  The first idea of handmade Wonder Woman costume costume would be simple for me to make, but I am just not sure if the costume would work for me.  I've never worn a tutu before, so that would be an adventure in itself. Plus I would need to get red leggings, anyone know where to get them?

The second option, while easy to make, could prove to be difficult if Justin is not interested in doing a couples costume with me.  I also would need to find all of the proponents of this costume {which could probably be done at my local thrift shop} so I guess we shall see which one we end up going with.  I will for sure let you know at the end of the month!

Other Exciting News
I'm going to start working out again! I talked with my workout buddy and she is taking the week off to recover from her second {yes second} half marathon this year, but it looks like we will start making a schedule to workout together in the next few weeks.  I'm psyched and ready to start moving again.

Question of the Day:
What do you look forward to in October?

Wedding Weekend Part II

Our Labor Day weekend was filled with all kinds of fun events and parties and the fun continued on Sunday when we made our way to my cousin, Jamie's wedding!

A little known fact before the wedding is that Jamie asked me to step up and be a bridesmaid for her wedding and let me tell you, I was super excited! She had a bridesmaid drop out and was panicking because her numbers were not going to be even (as any bride would).  Thankfully, I was the same size as the bridesmaid and her dress fit me perfectly.

Jamie and Kyle's wedding was a Country Chic wedding and was set at this beautiful barn in Eastern Michigan.  The weather was not absolutely perfect, but it was clear enough to take some totally awesome pictures because there was hardly any shadows on our faces.

The ceremony took place outside in front of this beautiful pond with tons of willows and trees surrounding the area.  It was so beautiful even with some sprinkling rain.

After the ceremony, we took a short walk to this beautiful field filled with georgous yellow flowers to get our group pictures taken.  Overall, we had a totally awesome group of people and enjoyed each other's company as we wait for our turns at the photos.

After getting our pictures taken, we made our way to the venue to get the party started and boy was it ever fun!  Her venue was decorated with the cutest white pom balls, string lights and other miscellaneous.  Dinner was served buffet style and we had the most delicious chicken, pasta and veggies.  However, my favorite part was the rolls.  I'm always a sucker for rolls and made sure to have at least two while I was there.

Was dinner was done, the food tables were cleared and "dances began".  Jamie had one with her dad, Kyle one with his mom and, of course, they had their first dance.  It was so lovely to see Jamie dancing with Kyle because you could just feel the love between the two of them and it made you glad you were there to celebrate with them.

Of course, we ended the afternoon with dancing! My family has always been one to get on the dance floor so the crowd was perfect.  We danced to some oldies, some newer songs and of course did a few line dances here and there.  Dancing is always my favorite part of going to weddings and I made sure to dance until I could no longer dance.

The evening ended with everyone heading home with full bellies and tired feet.  Jamie's wedding was such a wonderful wedding!

{Congratulations Jamie and Kyle!}

Wedding Weekend Part I

Bryan and Jenny's Wedding

Hi Everyone! I trust the last week has gone well for you? I sure hope so!

I wanted to play catch up from the last month (or so) because everything got thrown off from the Surgery.  Before surgery, it seriously felt like Justin and I were running around like crazy people trying to get everything done.  Labor Day saw an exciting weekend for us as we made our way to two weddings on what felt like opposite sides of the state!

The first wedding we went to was for Bryan and Jenny.  Bryan is Justin's coworker (and friend) so we were looking forward to this wedding for a little under two years.

We arrived at the venue right as their ceremony was starting, so we had to wait in the back for permission to join the rest of the group.  Their ceremony site was completely full, so Justin, Danielle and I stood in the back to watch the ceremony.  They had a traditional ceremony where they exchanged vows and did a sand ceremony to signify the joining of the couple.  Overall it as absolutely beautiful!

But honestly, my favorite part of the ceremony was the bagpipes.  I had never been that up close to bagpipes before and it was a treat to hear them and enjoy the interesting sounds that they made.

After the ceremony, we all filed inside to the reception hall where we were greeted with a cheese, fruit and cracker hors d'oeuvre.  We quickly lined up for our snack and grabbed a drink before heading to our table to get settled in for the evening{and of course we grabbed some pictures too!}.

We spent the rest of the evening enjoying great company, drinking and dancing of course! The night ended with us doing the wobble and having one good dance before making our way home for the night.

Such a fun and exciting evening!

{Congratulations Bryan and Jenny!}
