A Little Vacancy

Hey All! So as you can gather, I never got back on track with my running.  It has been an absolute madhouse the last week and unfortunately that is my excuse for not going for a run.

Today is my last day at Income Property Organization and I have to say I am getting a bit sad.  I've only been here a year, but they have been wonderful to me and it has always been enjoyable to be at the office and seeing the guys smiling faces.  Right now, I am sitting at the desk all by my lonesome hoping someone else will show up, but it might be a little bit before they do.  I have been training a new girl, Tiffany, to replace me, but she has yet to show up today, so I have to wonder if she will even show up at all.  As if I had enough stress on my plate, her not showing would be the icing on the cake.

Tomorrow we are heading out to Vermont for my friends' wedding! She asked me to be a bridesmaid and I am getting rather excited to stand up and be part of her special day! She is getting married at a quaint church in a city called Barre (Barry) and the church looks beautiful then the reception will be at The Capitol Plaza in Montpelier!
It looks like it is going to be absolutely beautiful! I've been checking the weather like a crazy person, and it looks like right now it will be 73 degrees with a 40% chance of thunderstorms.  A little rain never hurt anybody right? Plus, the old adage that it is good luck to have rain on your wedding day.  Rain or shine, she is going to be a beautiful bride and it will be a wonderful wedding.

Well, I just found out that the new girl quit, so I am off to do as much work as I can before I leave for the very last time.

Over and Out.

Oopsy

Hey All! So I must say that life has been rather busy the last 3 weeks and I have not been able to get a run in.  Literally, I've been busy non-stop and haven't been able to get to the gym once.

The week of the 4th I headed up to Alanson, MI, with my best friend to visit her family for the 3-5.  It was such a relaxing time.  We spent time on the boat and in the sun and it was super relaxing.  Her family has a tradition that on the 4th of July they go to this little city in northwestern Michigan called Harbor Springs for a parade, spend the day shopping in the city, then watch the fireworks late at night! We changed up their routine a bit and headed to the fireworks the night before instead.  They were pretty awesome!

On the 4th we headed out to the parade to hang out and it was SO hot.  Michigan has been having record breaking heat for the last month or so, and it was definitely a scorcher that week! By 10 a.m. it was probably 90 degrees or hotter outside! Can you believe that?

We headed to the dock to check out all of the amazing boats people had docked there.  I have to say I was rather jealous of some of the ships and was really hoping that we could get a chance to go inside a few of them, but we had no such luck.  Here is us on the dock:

The parade was definitely fun and I really enjoyed it since I haven't been to one in what feels like forever.

The weekend after the 4th, I headed back up north to the very top of the mitten in a city called Cheboygan with my husband.  Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures from our time there, but it was a nice time and I got a lot of boating time in which is a real treat for me.

As I mentioned in this this post, I was accepted into the I/O Psychology graduate program at Wayne State! On top of this wonderful news, I also have been offered a job at a company that I interviewed for back in January.  So in the last month I have been offered a new job and been accepted into graduate school.  This is the reason that I have been so busy.  Next Wednesday I will be heading out to Vermont with my husband to go to my friend's wedding that I am in and we are going to make a vacation out of the whole trip.  We will be going to her wedding in Montpelier, then headed down to southern Vermont to visit his aunt.  After Vermont we will be heading to Boston to visit my dad and his family.  AND while we are there, we will be going to see the Red Sox play the Detroit Tigers! I am super excited since the Tigers are my team.  After Boston, we will be heading to Philadelphia to visit his cousin and his family! So it's going to be one crazy week of visiting with family and I am super excited! It will be nice to be on vacation, but I am a bit stressed out too because the day after we get back, I will be starting my new job.

So because of starting the new job and getting ready for graduate school, I have been busy running around trying to get myself completely ready for both before we head on our vacation.

To change the subject, I am super excited about tonight! My husband, our friend Nick, and myself will be heading out to the midnight premier of The Dark Knight Rises!

I can't wait to post about it tomorrow! Well I am off for now! I hope everyone gets to see The Dark Knight Rises this weekend, and loves it!

Holy Cannoli

Hey All! So I must apologize for me absence the last 5 days! Overwhelming does not even begin to cover how crazy the last 5 days were, but I am glad I was keeping busy!

Unfortunately, I have not gotten a run in since my last post and did not even realize that I had a scheduled run for this afternoon.  Last Thursday after work I had originally planned on going for a run, but to my avail I fell asleep when I got home.  After my nap, I headed out with my friend to get the supplies for making her wedding ceremony programs.  We worked on those until about 10p.m. and I headed quickly to bed from sheer exhaustion.

Friday I had work again, which was rather slow, but after work Justin and I headed up to the wonderful Frankenmuth, MI to have dinner with some of his family members that were visiting from Pennsylvania.  We headed out to the Frankenmuth Brewery for a quick dinner and the food was delicious!
I ended up with a turkey burger and fries for dinner and it was WONDERFUL! I haven't had french fries in what feels like a very long time, so it was a nice treat for sure.

Saturday morning Justin and I got up early and drove down to Chicago to visit the other side of his family for his cousin's wedding reception.  They got married in the Grand Caymans back in February, so they had a wedding reception back in the states a few months later for everyone not able to attend the actual wedding in the Grand Caymans.  Their reception was at a place called South Branch Tavern and it was a pretty neat place! We had Chicago style pizza and hot dogs for dinner (which I thought was pretty awesome) and we danced the night away.

The last picture is of me and Justin's grandma! She is so special to me and I love her so much :)

Sunday morning we got up early and headed back to Michigan to get to a family picnic on my side of the family.  What a nice break it was, but we were SO tired from all of the driving! We got to see my aunt and uncle who were in from Albuquerque, N.M. and were able to catch up with them!Sunday evening we got home and basically went to sleep! I haven't gone to bed that early in I do not know how long!

This past weekend was definitely busy to say the very least, but it was wonderful spending so much time with the families that we love so dearly! Tomorrow I will be getting back on track for running by going for a run in the morning before I head up north with my best friend! I am hoping that I can post while I am up there, but just in case, I might not be back on until Thursday night!

I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July!
